Matt Wixson released an awesome brand new solo album today via Open Hand Records.
It’s entitled Welcome Home and is his first solo album since 2009’s Honest Living.

Here’s what Matt had to say about this recent release:
“So… this is the first solo album I’ve done since 2009’s Honest Living. I’m not really counting 2010’s Odds, because that was really just a collection of various songs, new and otherwise. It’s simultaneously more depressing and more optimistic than any of the albums before it. The recording style varies a bit, as a few of the songs were performed live and others have layers of extra recording on them. Overall, though, I feel they’re a cohesive snapshot of myself over the past couple years. Unlike previous records, I’m not going to go into details about individual songs this time around. If you don’t know who a song is about or what was going through my mind at the time, it’s up to you to interpret them.”
