The show was really fun! It’s been a crazy two weeks for punk shows in New Orleans. The fest ends up creating a situation where a ton of amazing touring acts are traveling through our town all in the same radius of time. So for a week before and a week after there are great bands playing shows here. Wednesday night was no exception, UNDERGROUND RAILROAD TO CANDYLAND put on a really fun show. They all dress in mystical nerd like costumes and play fun music. Kind of magical punk with driving rock and roll. They include acoustic & electirc guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, extra percussion, and trombone, plus tons of gang vocals: check them out here.
THE BOMBPOPS were fast as fu*k and tight as usual. They put on a good show last time they were here and played well again on wednesday. You can check them out here. HANDS LIKE BRICKS had some issues with their bass player but made the show on wednesday work. Kudos to them for working so hard to put on a good show despite dealing with difficulties.
OPPOSABLE THUMBS are killer you can hear them again tonight @ The Hey Cafe.
