Treadles began as the solo project of KC making their first recording debut with a a brooding cover of “Doctor Blind” by Emily Haines of Metric and Broken Social Scene. Retaining Haine’s arrant noir inflection, Treadles personalizes the original’s ethereal, glimmering atmosphere with a heavier, more arid instrumentation reminiscent of True Widow.
Treadles has developed into a full band orchestration with the debut EP release for “Bees Are Thieves Too”. The album is a six song document that has depth and sincerity. It evokes darker shades of blue and purple, illuminated by the vocal harmonies of KC and Emily.
