THE STRESS – MUK MUK

About:

release date: 06.05.2009

Hailing from Providence, Rhode Island, The Stress draws heavily from 60′s Jamaican ska, rocksteady and reggae, as well as from influences ranging from American soul to British-invasion creating a unique and refreshing style. The combined songwriting powers of the group, as well as their instrumental and vocal prowess, shine through in their highly original, yet familiar sound. Raised on the sloganeering of such seminal groups as The Clash, the band takes pride in their ability to write songs that encompass both extremely personal topics, as well as the sociopolitical events that define all of our lives.
The Stress formed through a series of lucky coincidences in the winter of 2007 and after a period of writing and developing their sound, the band released the E.P. Muk! Muk! in June 2009.
