From the first drum fill in “Bankai!” to the anthemic ending of “Pepelewho”, this album will kick your teeth in and make you love it. For the majority of the album, the Dominican Republic natives put the P’s back in phun pop punk. So many of the songs roll by fast as fuck and leave you going back to sing along. Other songs like “Stranger in a Hostel” and “A Boy Who Deceived The World” showoff an impressive, more mellow sound. Lyrically, the album ranges from consumerism and our lack of involvement in a better world to veganism and the bands’ inevitable struggle with moving from the DR to the States in order to become a successful touring act. Pericles is one of the hardest working bands on Community Records and you deserve to hear them.
